Greetings! My name is Mrs. Chu, and I absolutely love being a Panther! This will be my 12th year as a Teacher, and my 9th year at Pittman Elementary School. I am passionate about helping teachers find the best resources and most engaging activities for students, and enjoy getting to help ALL Panthers at this school.

I started my teaching career in East Los Angeles, California working in Early Childhood Special Education, and was so sad when I had to leave, but quickly found that I loved working in Vegas. I received my Bachelors Degree in Instructional Pedagogy, then went on to receive my Masters Degree Cum Laude with special Presidential recognition in Special Education, Early Childhood. My goal has always been to be there for student learning, and what a better opportunity than to do it on a school-wide level!

I married my wonderful husband Jeffrey in 2017, and we love traveling abroad, hanging out with friends and living life! My favorite places I've traveled to are Austria, Philippines, Tokyo, and Spain! Some of my hobbies are creating teaching resources, photography/ videography, sewing and shopping! I absolutely love being part of the Pittman Family and can't wait for another amazing year! "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." -Henry B. Adams

Hola! My name is Blanca Martinez and I am delighted to be a Panther again! I was born in Mexico but I’ve called Las Vegas home since I was 7 years old. I attended all CCSD schools since the first grade and graduated from Palo Verde and Nevada State High School (dual credit program). I have a Masters degree in Elementary Education and this will be my 8th year teaching. Pittman is where I started my teaching career and I am looking forward to returning as the Read By Grade 3 Literacy Specialist where I coach and mentor teachers on best instructional strategies supporting student success. When I’m not teaching, you'll find me spending time with my husband and our twin toddlers, Max and Stella. Recently we've been enjoying rediscovering this city through the eyes of new parents and venturing out to show the twins all of the wonderful things it has to offer! I look forward to a wonderful year and reconnecting with the Pittman community!

This community helped me grow as an educator and fall in love with teaching and I am so grateful to be returning, it feels like I'm going back home! I grew up in Palm Springs, California and I am a huge fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, and, of course, the Las Vegas Golden Knights. In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, reading, spending time with friends and family, and listening to music.       Hi Pittman Family! My name is Heather Mangham, better known as Mrs. M. This will be my 14th year teaching and my 9th year teaching at Pittman! I truly love working with the students, families, and staff at Pittman. I have held many positions over the years but this year I am excited to be supporting the school as a whole in the areas of science, math, and small group instruction. My passion is to help students and teachers find a love for learning through hands-on, real life experiences.

I moved to Las Vegas 15 years ago from Northern California, where I grew up. I have two wild and crazy children, Luke who is 9 and Jessica who is 4. When I am not at school, I love to bake, hike, skate, dance, go to amusement parks and hang out with my kids. I am so excited for what this new school year holds for ALL of the Pittman Panthers! “Take Chances. Make mistakes. Get messy!”- Miss Frizzle

Hello Vail Pittman Students and Families! I am very excited to be a part of the 2022-2023 school year with all of you! This is my 20th year of teaching. The last 13 years have been in the Library- one of my favorite places to go. I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with my Bachelor’s degree. I then got my Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. As a teacher, I am passionate about students making connections with books, and with their own strengths. I love recommending books to students and hearing them recommend books to their classmates. My priority is to create a challenging, organized, and resourceful learning environment that is supportive of all individuals and learning styles. I am looking forward to seeing all of you in the library this year.
