Greetings of peace and goodness to all students and parents! I am Mrs. Cagaoan, and it is with great pride to be a part of the Panther family! This is my second time teaching first grade here at Pittman ES. My objective is to foster growth, so all students demonstrate academic achievement. I believe that every student is capable of success, and should feel safe and comfortable, and excited in his or her learning environment. I taught for 12 years in the Philippines where I have my Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling at the University of San Carlos. Then, I have been teaching for 17 years here at the Clark County School District. I graduated at the University of Phoenix-Las Vegas and got my Masters degree in Elementary Education, and went to Touro University-Henderson Campus and took up Advance Studies in Differentiated Teaching/Learning. While I was in the Philippines, I taught in high school and college, then became a school counselor. Here in Las Vegas, I taught in middle school, third grade, second grade, and now first grade. Growing up, my most memorable achievement was when I became the valedictorian (top honors) in both the elementary and high school years! Everything is possible when we consistently put our minds and hearts in what we do! My husband is Manny who is a retired hotel chef, though he is still cooking for me until now. In 2015, my husband and I traveled to 6 countries and 13 cities in Europe where I had a reunion with my high school classmates and also with my former students from the Philippines. We have 6 kids with stable jobs and families of their own. We have 9 grandchildren, 4 of whom graduated high school valedictorians at Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas. I look forward to working alongside you, dear parents, to help your children meet or exceed their goals and be successful!

Hi families and students! I am Miss Irwin and am so excited to teach 1st Grade at Pittman this year! This will be my 1st year at Pittman and my 6th year teaching. I starting teaching in Ogden, Utah after I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University Idaho. I then moved to Las Vegas and have been here for 4 years. I moved around a lot growing up and lived in South Carolina, Kentucky, Las Vegas, Maryland, Washington, Idaho, and Utah. I have loved coming back to Las Vegas after a decade and still feeling at home! When I'm not teaching, I love to cross stitch, watch tv, and read. I look forward to getting to know you and working with your and your child to help them grow and reach or exceed their potential! Please email me with any concerns or questions! Let's have a great year!

Hi families and students! I'm Ms. Peres and I am excited to teach 1st grade this year at Pittman. First, let me tell you a little bit about myself. This will be my 17th year teaching in the Clark County School District and my 1st year in first grade. I was born and raised in California, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree from California State University of Northridge in 2002. I moved to Las Vegas in 2003 and I received my Master’s in Education from University of Phoenix in 2006. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy watching sports such as Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Cowboys, baking, reading, drawing, scrapbooking, and spending time with my friends, family and my adorable dog Diesel.

Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I enjoy seeing my students grow academically, as well as socially. In my classroom, you will find a fun environment where your child will feel safe and feel that they can be anything that they want to be. I encourage my students to have their voices be heard and to be supportive of one another. I am committed to helping each one of my students love, respect and appreciate the concepts being taught. I am here for all my students to help them in their journey of learning. With commitment, dedication and some fun, this upcoming school year will be a successful one!

Hello Panthers! My name is Mrs. Sparks and I am excited to be a part of the Panther community as a 1st grade teacher! This will be my 2nd year at Pittman and my 6th year teaching for CCSD. My undergraduate degree is in Health Administration. I received my English Language Learning M.Ed. from UNLV. Go Rebels! First grade is so much fun because I really feel that I get to create a strong foundation to develop lifelong learners. I want my students to be excited to come to school every day. I know that students actively construct and transform their own knowledge based on past experiences and prior learning. I believe it is my responsibility as a teacher to learn their interests and abilities. I can’t wait to spend this year with you! When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy sports, reading, nature and hiking.
