Hello Panthers! My name is Mrs. Viola and I am so excited to be joining this amazing community as a 5th grade teacher! I am born and raised in Argentina and moved to Las Vegas when I was only 14 years old. My Undergraduate and Master’s degrees are both from UNLV. Go Rebels! This will be my 2nd year teaching in 5th grade. I am married to an amazing man, Lucas, and we have two awesome kids, Sebastian and Karma. I have a Pittbull named Max, who is like my third child. When I am not at school, I love working out, specially CrossFit, hanging out with my friends and family. I also love traveling, every year we pick a new country to learn its culture, but mainly I just love to eat good food. I believe that school should be a safe and fun experience. I love to create an environment where all students feel supported and where it is truly their happy place. I believe that when I build relationships with my students and capture their hearts, then I can go on to capture their minds. I love to utilize cooperative learning strategies and have the kiddos moving around as much as possible, all while learning even when they don’t realize it! I cannot wait to spend this year with you all and I know that it will be fabulous!!

Bio coming soon...

Hello Panther Families! I am Ms. Floyd. Little bit about myself. I have been teaching in CCSD for the past 5 years in a polethera of areas (SLD, Resource, 3rd grade, 5th grade, HS Autism, KIDS program) but my love and passions are with 5th graders. I graduated from UNLV in 2006 with a Bachelors in Psychology with an emphasis in Education. I am fasinated in how the brain works and how its applied to everyday learning. I am a mom to a wonderful, beautiful and extremely smart 10th grader, Olivia. She is my world. I am her biggest cheerleader. She impresses me everyday! She loves playing tennis and is very talented with her skills. I also have a cute pup named Emma. She is too well trained for her own good. I enjoy watching our local hockey team! Go Knights Go! I am a Green Bay Packers fan as well. I believe teaching starts with a common ground. I believe that each student is a Champion and I will teach them to reach for the stars, set goals and how to achieve them! Self advocacy is huge! Knowing what you want and achieving it is the whole name of the game! I'm very excited to start this school year ! Go Panthers!

Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I enjoy seeing my students grow academically, as well as socially. In my classroom, you may or may not find me standing on chairs/tables to grab my classroom's attention. I encourage my students to have their voices be heard and to be supportive of one another. I am committed to helping each one of my students love, respect and appreciate the concepts being taught. I always will try to apply real world situations and applications to whatever content there is. I believe that this is all crucial for student success. With commitment, dedication and some fun, this upcoming school year will be a successful one!

Hi families and students! I'm Mr. Rodriguez and I am excited to teach 5th grade this year at Pittman. First, let me tell you a little bit about myself. This year, I'll be starting my 6th year teaching in the Clark County School District and my 7th year overall. Previously, I had taught high school math in LA. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA where I received my Bachelors Degree from Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2012. I have 2 dogs, a Dogo Argentino named Krypto (after Superman's dog) as well as my puppy She's a Blue Heeler. Krypto is my alarm clock for their early morning walks. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy hiking, anime, and sports. I am an avid sports fan (GO Dodgers, Raiders, Lakers and LA Kings!!!) and love bringing that friendly competition into the classroom. With commitment, dedication and some fun, this upcoming school year will be a successful one!
