Hello families and students! My name is Jyade Gabriel and this is my first year teaching at Vail Pittman ES. I came all the way from Maryland and I am really excited to work with you this year. Together, we will embark on a wonderful learning journey and we will explore various subjects and topics to develop your strengths, unlock your potential and overcome any challenges you may face. A little bit about me, I prioritize spending quality time with my family. We love creating beautiful memories together, whether it’s sharing meals, watching movies, walking in the park or simply just enjoying each other’s company. I also have a passion for exploring the world through its delectable cuisines. I delight in trying different foods from various cultures, savoring the unique tastes, and learning about the traditions and stories behind each dish. Anyway, I am here to support you in your academics and help you in your personal growth.

Hi everyone! My name is Courtney Kirwan and this is my third year teaching 4th grade at Vail Pittman Elementary School. I was born and raised in Henderson, Nevada and take pride in being a local to this great city. I attended UNLV to earn my Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and am currently working on my Masters Degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction. When I’m not teaching or learning, I love to be around my family and friends, do yoga, be out in nature, travel, go out to eat (preferably Italian food), and watch my favorite T.V shows. My favorite place to travel is Hawaii where I have visited 6 times!

I became a teacher because I adore working with children and I want to make a difference in our future generations. My goal is to create a safe space in the classroom for students to learn, have fun, and grow academically and personally.

Hello 4th grade families! I am excited to be teaching at Pittman again this year! 4th grade is a fun year where we get to discover our unique perspectives. My classroom is built upon honesty, perseverance, and respect. This mindset will help ensure we can find ways to support each other through any challenge that may come our way. Outside of teaching I love Disney, video games, new foods, and spending time with family. My son was born in 2022 and he has already changed my perspective on so many things. I also have 2 dogs at home. As we navigate 4th grade it's important to reflect on what we accomplish and continuously push ourselves to do better. Each of you will bring a unique perspective and experiences to our classroom. We all have a story to tell and I can't wait to hear about yours!
