Hello Panthers! My name is Mrs. Sparks and I am excited to be a part of the Panther community as a 3rd grade teacher! This will be my 3rd year at Pittman and my 7th year teaching for CCSD. I completed 1 year of student teaching in Houston, Texas prior to moving to Las Vegas. I graduated from UNLV in 2023 with a M.Ed in English Language Learning. I love helping students realize their potential and add value to their lives in some small way. When I am not in the classroom I am spending time with family. At home, my husband and I like to work on projects together. We love watching sports and our favorite time of the year is football season! When I have the time you will find me visiting family in Kentucky, Texas and New York. I also love unique coffee shops, book stores and nature walks.

Hello 3rd grade families! My name is Mrs. Ybarra and I am so excited to be starting my first year at Pittman Elementary! I moved to Las Vegas in 2019 from Nicaragua, where I lived off and on since I was 7 years old. I am married and have two awesome boys, Agaton and Alec, as well as a fur-daughter, Juna Maria. I received my bachelor's from the University of Texas at San Antonio and taught English as a second language for 6 years while living in Nicaragua. This will be my first year teaching at CCSD and I am so excited to be joining the Panther's community. I believe that school should be a safe and fun experience. My goal is to create an environment where all students feel supported and where it is truly their happy place. I believe that when I build relationships with my students and capture their hearts, then I can also capture their minds. I cannot wait to spend this year with you all and I know that it will truely amazing!!

Hello Panthers! This is my second year teaching third grade at Vail Pittman! My classroom is my “happy place” where I can support my students as they grow as readers, thinkers and friends. I taught for over 25 years in California and Connecticut before moving to Las Vegas in 2022 to live nearer to family on the west coast. I received my teaching certificate from the University of California at Davis (Go Aggies!) and a masters degree from Fairfield University in Connecticut (Go Stags!). When I am not teaching or lesson planning you can find me spending time with my husband, kids, grandkids and our Schnoodle dog, Aggie. My favorite things besides third graders are reading and writing books, coffee, walks and water aerobics class.
